Motorola has unveiled the new Motorola RAZR 2019, the revival of the legendary flip phone as a foldable smartphone with a flexible screen that unfolds vertically.
The Motorola RAZR 2019 features an external "Quick View" 2.7" (800 x 600) gOLED display that shows basic user information when holding the device in clamshell mode (closed). This information includes network status, battery life, date and time, weather, notifications (reply directly from there), access to Google Assistant and shortcuts to music and messages.
Opening the Motorola RAZR 2019, the Flex View pOLED display rolls out to a full 6.2'' display with a resolution of 2142 x 876 (21: 9 aspect ratio) and all external display information is automatically transferred to it. There is a notch at the top for hosting the front 5MP f / 2.0 selfie camera and speaker grill, while a 16MP f / 1.7 sensor is fitted beneath the internal display, which the company says gives the user “night vision”.
On the right side of the device are the volume control buttons and the power button, while at the bottom is a massive bezel with a fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C connector. Its dimensions are 172 x 72 x 6.6mm open and 94 x 72 x 14mm folded, weighing 208gr.
The internal hardware uses an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 4G LTE, 2510mAh battery with 15W TurboPower charger and the operating system is surprisingly Android 9 Pie.
The foldable Motorola RAZR 2019 will be released exclusively by Verizon in the US for $ 1500. Pre-orders will open on December 26 and sell on January 9, 2020.
