After many years of mapping our planet, it is the first time that Google has made revelations about the great work it has done in one of its most popular services, Google Maps.
The company says it has covered 16 million kilometers photographing for Street View, which translates into 400 rounds of the planet, and nearly 58 million square kilometers of HD photos for Google Earth, thus covering 98% of the Earth's population. .
In the technical part, cars equipped with special cameras have been used for Street View operation to take pictures at various angles while on the move. In areas where cars are not accessible, pedestrians work with the special Street View Trekker Backpacks, and a technique similar to that used in virtual reality headsets is used to staple the shots.
